Where do you work and what’s your role?
I’m currently with Mockingbird Analytics serving as the Grant Writing Supervisor.
Why do you choose to work in the nonprofit sector? What drives your passion?
I like helping others and knowing that I can make a difference.
What's the best professional advice you've ever received?
Preparation is 90% of a job well done.
Other info or fun facts about yourself you'd like to share?
I love craft beer, family genealogy, sci fi shows and historical romance novels.
What challenges have you experienced in your job during the pandemic? And how have you overcome these challenges?
One of my biggest challenges has been time management when it comes to working from home and having well defined boundaries. When you live where you work, it's easy to do work at all hours of the day and night. What has helped me the most is keeping a calendar and a set list of tasks that need to be completed during day hours and what can be done during evening hours. I heavily rely on a hard copy agenda as well as Google calendar.
What type of self-care activity have you applied to stay well during the quarantine period?
I love watching tv shows, and listening to podcasts. But I also love a nice hot bath, a few paper face masks and just resting as self-care. And also, baking, though I have not done a lot of it lately.
What has fueled your fire in 2020? Can you recommend any streaming shows, books, audio books, podcasts or selfcare tips to the YNPN-LA community?

I highly recommend doing at least one BeerFest at home during these days of COVID. Here’s the next one I will be attending. A word of advice: Find a partner to share the beers with!
