In addition, the Account Assistant will be introduced to the major topics and issues related to advocacy, nonprofit organizations, and communicating on behalf of issues and causes. Gain real-world experience by working directly with client account teams and contribute in a range of areas from research to project management to assisting with social media. This is a paid, entry-level position that requires previous work experience and a related college degree.

     

    Job Responsibilities

      

    Social Media

    • Working with a team, research & develop content across various social media platforms
    • Support the organization’s social media engagement strategies
    • Monitor social media accounts and assist with reporting

    Research and Writing

    • Support team with client research and initiatives
    • Writing projects as needed
    • Proofing and copy editing as needed

    Marketing

    • Assist with monthly newsletter and analytics
    • Support the success of marketing campaigns by contributing ideas and implementing strategies
    • Research and track potential awards submissions to highlight organization’s work
    • Support the preparation of other marketing materials
    • Implement content updates on the organization’s website
    • Help manage the organization’s image bank

    Administration

    • Assist with ongoing administrative tasks, database management, & staff meetings
    • Answer phones & contribute to a positive work atmosphere

    Project Management & Production

    • Assist Project Manager with monitoring and updating project timelines
    • Gather and disseminate assets and materials to team members as needed
    • Assist Project Management and Design departments in the production of client and agency related materials, including capabilities kits, design comps, presentations, and training materials

     

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Established writing, communication, and research skills
    • Track record and willingness to juggle multiple projects and office administrative tasks
    • Interest in nonprofit work
    • Ability to work independently and to follow through on projects
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong sense of professionalism
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & familiarity with Mac OS
    • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (preferred but not required)
    • Familiarity with MailChimp, Wordpress, Quickbase, Hootsuite (preferred but not required)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Comfortable using analytics data to write reports

     

    The Account Assistant is a full-time position. Cause Communications offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, including company-sponsored health, dental, vision, long-term disability, life, and AD&D insurances, as well as paid holidays, vacation time, sick days, wellness reimbursements, and access to a 401K plan. Salary range is $15/hour - $20/hour DOE.

    The Operations Assistant is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of office processes and systems. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills. This position reports to the Operations Director.

     

    Job Responsibilities

     

    General Operations/Administration

    • Serve as the face of the company; offer friendly, professional and polished demeanor in person and over the phone
    • Ensure continuous front desk coverage; screening & directing calls and visitors
    • Manage incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, couriers, shipments, and the office’s master calendar
    • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems for the office; implement new systems as needed
    • Weekly & monthly inventory and supply procurement, with support from Operations Director
    • Print / Compile marketing capabilities kits
    • Daily troubleshooting for all operational issues, with support from Operations Director

     

    Facilities Management and Office Duties

    • Maintain clean and orderly office appearance, including the kitchen area & conference room
    • Administer voicemail system, including holiday messages, coordinating repairs/maintenance
    • Provide limited administrative support to staff
    • Assist with managing contact databases
    • Support with employee recognition

     

    Project Management Support

    • Enter data into the project management database, including purchase orders, budgets, timelines, contacts, and grants information
    • Research new office vendors/services as needed
    • Generate and track client invoices in collaboration with the Operations Director

     

    Minimum Requirements

     

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or comparable training and experience
    • Agency or nonprofit experience preferred but not required

    Position Description

    The Operations Director is responsible for the oversight and direction of Cause Communications’ internal operations, administrative, budget, accounting, and human resources functions; contract compliance; and general office management.

     

    Operations

    • Manage and oversee contracts with vendors related to organizational infrastructure
    • Research, propose, and implement administrative processes that adhere to high standards of transparency, accountability and efficiency
    • Oversee office inventory, procurement of supplies, and facility-related projects
    • Manage and oversee maintenance of corporate files and affiliations, copyright, trademark, and ISBN apps and records, master agreements and contracts with government agencies
    • Lead risk management and insurance analyses and ensure complete coverage

     

    Finance

    • Manage organizational financial planning and organizational budgeting processes, including overseeing budget implementation, financial reporting, and expense tracking
    • Supervise bookkeeper and work with her to chart cash flow and to prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for the Founder and senior staff
    • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and process bi-monthly payroll with outside payroll service
    • Ensure project budgets are meeting goals, in collaboration with the Project Manager
    • Manage annual audit process and serve as the primary staff liaison with audit firm
    • Ensure compliance of all fiscal policies, procedures, and documentation

     

    Human Resources

    • Develop and implement human resources programs, policies, and practices that serve the organization’s goals, support staff, and contribute to a positive workplace culture
    • Lead recruiting process for both new hires full-time and contractors; help cultivate pool of potential employees and vendors
    • Ensure that job descriptions clearly define the duties, responsibilities, and reporting structure of each role
    • Maintain updated personnel and operations policies and procedures codified in the employee handbook and ensure compliance
    • Negotiate, prepare, and monitor all vendor and consultant contracts

     

    Minimum Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree; Finance or Business Administration preferred; MBA/CPA or equivalent experience a plus
    • At least 7 years professional experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in financial and operations management at an agency or consulting firm, nonprofit organization, or government agency
    • Experience in human resources administration such as maintaining employee records, running payroll, and benefits administration
    • Experience in business planning and implementation, budgeting, reading and analyzing financial statements, and nonprofit accounting
    • Experience with Quickbooks or similar accounting software required

    Skills and Abilities

    • Systems thinker with outstanding attention to detail, work ethic, and problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to learn new skills and ability to contribute and thrive in a creative environment
    • Strong people management skills / EQ skills: equally adept with C-Suite clients, vendors, and entry level employees

    Cause Communications is growing! We are seeking a full-time Account Manager to support our social impact client work.

    Position description

    The Account Manager is a key implementer at Cause Communications. This individual works as part of a humming account services team, providing day-to-day account support and developing the award-winning strategic communications materials that Cause Communications has come to be known for over the past 40 years. This position reports to the Group Account Director and works closely with all members of the account team.

     

    Job Responsibilities

     

    Strategic Marketing and Communications

    • Provide strategic ideas and input for the development of marketing and communications projects, campaigns, and plans for clients
    • Develop and practice integrated communications skills on behalf of clients including public relations, branding, advertising, media buys, web/online and interactive development, event planning, collateral development, and more
    • Present new opportunities/strategies to senior staff to further develop the work of clients and/or potential new business opportunities
    • Manage the implementation of research work, development of media lists, etc.
    • Write positioning papers/memos for clients, proposals, and copy for collateral materials
    • Create and pitch media stories
    • Outreach to potential community and business partners for strategic alliances with clients

     

    Account Management

    • Work on multiple account teams, seeking opportunities to exceed client expectations and strengthen client relationships
    • Interact with clients in presentations, meetings, and as backup support to account leads
    • Work in partnership with the Project Manager to ensure assigned projects are on deadline
    • Prepare monthly qualitative client progress reports

     

    New Business Development 

    • Assist in the preparation and implementation of new business proposals and pitches
    • Attend new business meetings when appropriate
    • Maintain solid client relationships for the purpose of generating new business opportunities
    • Participate in networking opportunities including trainings, speaking engagements, and development of white papers, etc.

     

    Agency Marketing and Promotion

    • Create newsletter, web, and other promotional content to present Cause Communications’ capabilities and showcase our award-winning offerings for current and prospective clients
    • Create and implement social media strategy to promote the agency to external audiences
    • Draft award submissions and seek out/fulfill other opportunities to recognize our client work
    • Draft conference submissions to highlight our work among our peers and develop our leadership role in the communications space locally and nationally

     

    Minimum Requirements

     

    Education and Experience

    • Five or more years of experience in marketing communications, public relations, advertising, or related field
    • Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred
    • Agency experience strongly preferred

     

    Skills and Abilities

    • Impeccable communications skills, verbal and written
    • Strong reading and writing skills, able to proofread and edit highly visible documents
    • Solid knowledge of marketing communications, media relations, and creative services
    • Comfortable speaking over the phone and in person, able to interact comfortably with a range of clients
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Proficient with MS Word and Excel. Must be able to work on a Mac platform
    • Knowledge of Wordpress and Keynote a plus
