Why do you choose to work in the nonprofit field? What inspires you about it?

I went into the nonprofit field because I've always wanted to affect the world in a positive way, and I thought that being in nonprofit is a good way to do that. Even though I am not currently doing direct service in my current position, I am inspired every day by all of our projects (150+) and the people behind them. These people work so hard to be able to make society better. I also volunteer for other nonprofits in my free time, and I am very humbled by the dedication and selflessness of all the people that I work with.

Why do you think YNPN and YNPN LA are important? Why did you become a paid member?

YNPN is important because it connects people and builds up emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector by providing them with networks, skills, and support. After being a follower of YNPN for over a year, I decided to become a paid member because aside from wanting to support the network, I find their professional development trainings and workshops to be invaluable. I am definitely looking forward to attend them!

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is knowing that in some way, it helps someone, or something. I like being able to support our projects by making it easier for them to focus on their mission. Aside from that, I love the organization I work for and value all the opportunities to grow personally and professionally that I am given.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?

I am interested in a lot of different things, so I'm still figuring out a  career path I want to take. In 5 years, I see myself either doing consulting work or working as the head of a Communications department doing marketing or PR. If I ever go out of nonprofit, it'd most likely be to work for the gaming industry.
